PRIZE DESCRIPTION

There is one prize of a holiday to Macao for two people consisting of return economy class flights between London and Hong Kong, high-speed ferry transfers between Hong Kong and Macao, return shuttle bus between Macao ferry port and hotel and 4 nights’ shared accommodation in a Deluxe Room at the five star JW Marriott Macau including breakfast plus a £500 Hawes & Curtis gift voucher.

Terms and Conditions

The following information and terms and conditions relate to the “Win a Luxury Holiday to Macao” prize draw (“the Draw”). By participating in the Draw, entrants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Information on how to enter, conditions for redemption and use of the prize form part of these Terms and Conditions. We recommend that you print and store or save a copy of these terms and conditions for future reference. The Draw is free to enter. No purchase is necessary.

Entry is via the Macao campaign site (win.macaocompetition.co.uk) and www.escapismmagazine.com, where it is also being co-hosted. All entries will be pooled and one final winner drawn from correct and eligible entries. Entry is restricted to one per person.

It is the entrants' responsibility to complete the entry form in full and incomplete entries will not be included. The Promoter is not responsible should the winner provide incorrect contact details. Proof of entry is not proof of receipt.

Late or corrupt entries will not be accepted and the Promoter is not responsible for any technical or other issues which impede an entrants' entry being submitted correctly and/or in full. If any aspect of the Promotion does not function correctly that affects the administration, integrity or fairness of the Draw, then the Promoter may at its sole discretion cancel, modify or suspend the Draw and/or invalidate affected entries.

The Promoter is in no way liable for the reproduction or indirect access via third party web site or home page access which reproduction misstates or omits any of the information or terms and conditions connected with the promotion.

The Draw is open to residents of the United Kingdom, Isle of Man or Channel Islands aged 18 or over except employees of Macao Government Tourism Office, Hawes & Curtis, The Holiday Place and anyone else professionally associated with the Draw. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of participants.

The Draw opens [at 23:59 on 23rd December 2016] and closes at 23:59 GMT on 15th February 2017. No entries submitted before or after these dates will be valid.

Both passengers must travel together. The gift voucher will be made payable in pounds sterling in the name of the winning entrant only and such voucher cannot be made payable to any third party. Hawes & Curtis reserves the right to refuse to accept vouchers which are deemed to have been tampered with, defaced, duplicated, damaged or which otherwise are suspected to be affected by fraud or which have been lost or stolen following delivery. The prize must be taken between 5 May 2017 and 10 December 2017, and is subject to availability. The prize may not be taken between the following dates: 20 September – 7 October 2017. The prize must be booked at least one month prior to departure.

The prize does not include UK airport transfers, food and beverages outside of the included daily breakfast, spending money, any other excursions, travel, accommodation, attractions or tips, any other personal or medical expenses other than those stated. It is the responsibility of the prizewinner to ensure that they and their companion have a valid passport and insurance and obtain any necessary vaccinations and visas for their trip.

Once a booking has been made and confirmation provided to the prize winner, no further changes to the booking are allowed. No upgrades allowed. The Promoter reserves the right to provide an alternative prize of similar value should the specified prize become unavailable for any reason.

All elements of the prize are non-transferable, non-negotiable and there are no cash alternatives.


The Draw will take place during the last week of February 2017. One winner will be chosen at random by an independent judge from all eligible entries made via the Macao campaign site and www.escapismmagazine.com. The judge’s decision is final, and no further correspondence will be entered into.

The winner will be notified within two weeks of the closing date. If the winner does not respond within 14 days of first notification, the winner forfeits their right to claim the Prize and a re-draw will take place. An alternative winner will then be chosen at random from all eligible entries and this process will continue until there is a valid winner. A winner whose prize has been forfeited is not entitled to payment or compensation of any kind.

The Promoter reserves the right to cancel this Draw, or to change any condition of this Draw, without notice. The Promoter reserves the right at its absolute discretion to vary, amend or cancel the Draw without notice in the unlikely event of a major catastrophe, war, earthquake or any actual, anticipated or alleged breach of any applicable law or regulation or any similar event or circumstance outside of its control and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to the Promoter as a result thereof.

Neither the Promoter nor any other person or party associated with this Draw shall be liable for any loss, expense, disappointment, personal injury or damage whatsoever suffered (including, but not limited to, indirect or consequential loss or damage) in connection with either participation in this Draw or with taking the prize.

Nothing in these terms and conditions shall exclude or limit the liability of the Promoter or any other person or party associated with prize draw for death or personal injury caused by their staff or suppliers’ negligence or for fraud or for any other liability which cannot be limited or excluded by law or regulation, where liability shall be limited to the minimum permissible by law.

The winner may be required to take part in reasonable publicity as specified by the Promoter. By entering this prize draw you accept that the Macao Government Tourism Office UK Representative (the Promoter) and partners (Hawes & Curtis and The Holiday Place) may use your name for their promotional and publicity purposes, without the payment of any fee, nor the requirement for prior notification or permissions. You also accept that, by entering the Draw, you will automatically be subscribed to future communications by the Promoter and individual prize partners. However, you may unsubscribe from each company's communications at any time. Any personal data relating to entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation.

This Draw is governed by and interpreted in accordance with English law and the English courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any disputes or claims which may arise.
