The basics

One of the UK's biggest and best festivals is branching out, and firstly it's heading to Canada, to bring a bit of English eccentricism to North America.

The festival

Rob Da Bank's fest is one of the most recognised in the world, so it's no surprise that he's taking it overseas. And why not Canada? It's not a country known for its many festivals (because there aren't many), so it's a perfect fit for one run by people who know exactly what they're doing.

As well as taking place on a beach – which is obviously a massive plus (as long as it's sunny) – it's also got Bestival mainstays like the inflatable church, and added bonuses like a Bollywood Temple, a Day of the Dead Cocktail Bus and a Yarn Bombing Tent (whatever that is).

Basically, it's going to be amazing, because it's Bestival. But on a beach.

Our tip

The beach it's being held on – Hanlan's Point Beach – is normally a nudist beach, but don't let that make you think you can flop out your sweet spots and start thrusting them in people's faces. It's not a good look. Most of the time anyway.
