The basics

One day extravaganza on a paradise beach in Sydney

The festival

New festival Bondi Beachfest managed to bag The Beach Boys in its first year, and if that isn't impressive we don't know what is. The famously laid back Aussies are clearly a bit more serious when it comes to arranging their music fests. We're expecting big things from this fest in the years to come.

Bondi beach is legendary in Australia. Surrounded by beautiful limestone cliffs and with a unique place in the history of surfing, it is a tourist attraction in its own right. Sit back and enjoy a succession of great acts from the comfort of a sea on the sand, while the waters lap behind you. Sounds good to us!

Our tip

Don't diss their cricket team. Seriously.

Getting there

How do I get there?

If you are planning on driving your car, parking at Bondi Junction Eastgate public car park and catching a bus to the Bondi Beachfest is probably the best bet. The car park is open from 6am – 1am Monday to Sunday. A 5 hour + stay will cost approx. $35.

Getting there by public transport:

Avoid the hassle of finding a car park and catch public transport to the festival instead. There are plenty of services to get you to and from Bondi Beach. You can catch a train to Bondi Junction on the T4 eastern suburbs & Illawarra line and change for a Sydney buses service to get to the beach. From Bondi Junction, head to stand a where bus routes 380, 381, 382 or 333 run regularly and get you to Bondi Beach in about 15 minutes. If you’re coming from the city, the 380 and 381 leave from Alfred Street just underneath circular quay train station and take you directly to Bondi Beach in about 45 minutes.

How to get home:

Free shuttle bus service

On the way home, make the most of the free shuttle bus service that will run from Campbell Parade at Bondi beach back to Bondi Junction from 9pm until midnight to help you get home.
