The basics

A rock fest in Gibraltar which is, suitably, on a rock

The festival

Presented by MTV, Gibraltar Calling includes some of the biggest names in rock and pop. Not bad for a little area of land just south of Spain. The festival takes place in the atmospheric Victoria Stadium. A great way to see some of rock and pop's biggest stars in a sunnier setting, it's the perfect excuse to get out of the UK (but not actually out of the UK sort of) for a few days.

Our tip

If you are going to place a bet on the horse called Rock of Gibraltar, make sure you shop around for odds. They can vary widely between bookies.
