The basics

They know how to have a good time in Bristol, and Love Saves the Day proves it's possible to party hard and spread a little love at the same time.

The festival

Bristol is the west country cradle of alternative music, so it stands to reason that its flagship music festival is kind of a big deal. With an up-for-it crowd, plenty of colour, and one of the UK’s coolest cities as a backdrop, Love Saves the Day is a fun-loving music-lover’s paradise.

Annie Mac and SBTRKT headlined the main stage in 2014, backed up by exactly the kind of high quality acts you’d expect from a city as in thrall to music as Bristol. Todd Terje, Neneh Cherry, Eton Messy and D&B legend Shy FX were also on the bill, so expect more of the same in 2015.

The afterparties are almost as heavyweight as what goes before them – 2014 saw Derrick Carter, Jamie XX, Talaboman (John Talabot and Axel Boman) all ripping it up late into the Saturday and Sunday nights.

Our tip

If you’re looking for a foodie escape, grab brunch at the Lido restaurant (overlooking a real pool) in fashionable and – dare we say it – chichi Clifton.
