The basics
Not a country bumpkin? Head to Ohio's city festival then, you slick bastard.
The festival
For 13 consecutive years now, thousands of dedicated music fans have descended on downtown Cincinnati, Ohio to see more than 170 bands at the annual Midpoint Music Festival. The festival quickly developed a reputation for finding the next big thing, and providing a platform for your new favourite band - the one you never even knew existed, that is.
The festival has gone from strength to strength and doubled in size over the last five years. Its focus of helping emerging artists gain quality exposure may mean that you might not know many of the headliners, but it does mean you'll be the coolest kid on the music block when you heard all of 2016's hits last summer.
Held across a variety of intimate venues including local bars and theatres in the heart of the city, festival goers can stroll or bike easily around the Over-The-Rhine neighbourhood. Unlike many other festivals out there, MidPoint is a celebration of young, creative talent set amongst an architecturally rich urban setting, making this a unique experience even for a seasoned festival vetran.
Our tip
As a city festival with no camping option, check in to the Millenium Hotel Cincinnati. If you book before September 11th and say you're attending the festival then you get a special discount rate price.
