The basics

Set in the ridiculously beautiful Catskill mountains, Mountain Jam combines serious music with seriously good food and entertainment.

The festival

Mountain Jam is where classic rockers and music fans of all kinds head for a small but focused lineup spread over four (hopefully) sunny days in June. With the natural amphitheatre of the Catskill mountains, it has an atmosphere and environment all of its own. And if that doesn’t do it for you, there’s always America’s longest and highest zipline to check out on site.

Guitarist Warren Haynes helps curate the lineup, and you can rely on legendary names from rock and beyond, alongside some new and exciting acts too. In 2014 the veteran Allman Brothers Band performed their first two albums in full, and Pretty Lights, Jeff Tweedy of Wilco and Uncle Tupelo, and Damian ‘Jnr Gong’ Marley were also on the bill.

Our tip

Get there early (11.30am on the Friday, to be precise) and you’ll be rewarded with a Native American opening ceremony to show gratitude to the earth before worshipping at the altar of the rock gods.
