Gisela Erlacher: Living under concrete skies
Austrian photographer Gisela Erlacher's new photo book depicts the surreal human worlds that exist underneath motorway bridges
Travelling around Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Britain and China, architectural photographer Gisela Erlacher took these fascinating shots of hidden pockets of civilisation that live underneath bulky skies of grey, brutalist concrete.
Beyond the immediate bleakness, the shots also highlight the resilience, sustainability and surreal, alien nature of existing in the modern world.
Skies of Concrete, published by Park Books, is available to buy on 2 March 2017 for £20, amazon.co.uk
