The North Face Ventrix Hoody – What is it?
An incredibly smart piece of breathable tech, all wrapped up in a sleek, familiar, North Face-shaped bundle. Balancing all-day comfort with the new Ventrix dynamic ventilation system, it’s the perfect companion on hill walks, runs and even climbs – or just walking the dog. The whole thing weighs in at just 440g, while providing you with all the insulation you’ll need on colder days. Basically, it’s Night Rider in a jacket – just don’t expect it to talk to you politely when you put it on.
The North Face Ventrix Hoody – Why do I need it?
You know that feeling you get when you’re marching up a hill (or through the dark, musty Tube on the way back from work) and your body temperature starts to spiral upwards beyond your control? You know how you start sweating profusely, and the sweat won’t wick properly because you’re layered up for the chilly winter weather? You know how every excursion turns into a game of taking off clothes and putting them back on again? Well, thanks to this new piece of tech from the good folks at The North Face, you don’t have to worry about that anymore. Put simply, the more you work, the more ventilation it gives. Put slightly more technically, the Californian outdoor brand has tricked out an insulating jacket with micro perforations that allow heat to escape – particularly in hot spots like the underarm area – meaning you can focus on the task at hand, rather than stuffing your cable knit jumper in your rucksack.
The North Face Ventrix Hoody – Should I buy it?
It’s hard to remember when a brand came out with a piece of tech that achieved something so simple, yet so useful. In life, it’s often about the little things, and while de-layering and re-layering has generally been one of those minor nuisances on every adventure, it’s impossible to argue that being in better control of your own body heat is anything but an absolute boon. Buy it and you won’t go back.
