The festival
Plenty of northern soul goes into this festival at everyone’s favourite seaside town, with a couple of hundred bands performing at friendly pubs and clubs along the coast over a few days. The best news is it’s all FREE! But should you feel generous the festival collaborates with local homelessness charities and encourages contributions to the less fortunate in the community.
You can expect to hear jazz, blues, rock, punk, country, folk, country, pop, acoustic, choirs and much else; the Sandgrown’uns aren’t fussy. It’s not all about music either, Blackpool Music Festival features poetry recitals. Mirror, mirror on the wall, whose the loveliest fest of all? See?
By the way how did you not know people from Blackpool are called Sandgrown’uns? We’re disappointed.

By Train
Blackpool North Station is approximately 10 minutes walk from the Winter Gardens. Click here for train times.
By Car
From the M55 exit at junction 4, follow A583 into central Blackpool or for sat nav - postcode FY1 1HW.
A multi-storey facility is available within the Houndshill Shopping Centre. This is approx 150m from the Coronation Street entrance (lift access to the main areas of the Winter Gardens building) or approx. 300m from the Church Street entrance (ground level access to the main building)- the postcode of this car-park is FY1 4NY. This is a pay-on-return car-park.
